Payments & refunds
Paying, refunds and fees
How money moves on LaroCourts, for players and venues, in plain words and peso examples.
Ways to pay
All payments go through PayMongo, a licensed Philippine payment company. LaroCourts never sees or stores your card number or e-wallet password.
- GCash
- Log in to GCash on the payment page and approve the amount.
- Maya
- Log in to Maya and approve the amount.
- QR Ph
- QR Ph is the Philippines’ national QR code for payments. The payment page shows a QR code. Open your bank or e-wallet app (most Philippine apps support QR Ph), tap Scan QR, and approve. Good if you don’t use GCash or Maya.
- Card
- Credit or debit card. Your bank may send you a one-time code to approve it.
Venues pay their plan invoices the same ways.
Holds
When a player taps Book and pay, the court (and the coach and rentals) is held for them while they pay. Nobody else can book it during the hold.
- A hold lasts 15 minutes unless the venue set another time (5 to 60 minutes). The booking summary shows it.
- Paid in time: the booking is confirmed straight away.
- Not paid in time: the hold ends, the time frees up, and nothing is charged.
- Paid just after the hold ended: if the court is still free, the booking is confirmed. If someone else took it, you get a full refund automatically.
Refunds and timing
When you get a refund
- You cancel in time: before the venue's free-cancellation time (usually 24 hours before play), you get the full amount back. Tap Cancel and refund on the booking in My account.
- The venue cancels: always a full refund.
- Your payment arrived after the slot was taken: full refund, automatically.
- After the free-cancellation time: you can't cancel in the app. Contact the venue; they can still cancel and refund you.
When the money arrives
We send the refund to PayMongo the moment the booking is cancelled. It goes back to the same GCash, Maya, bank or card you paid with.
- E-wallets: usually within a few working days.
- Cards: up to a few weeks, depending on your bank. It may show as a separate credit, not as a cancelled charge.
Nothing after that? Email hello@larocourts.vip with your booking code and we will check it with PayMongo.
For venues
A refund takes back your share of that booking, and our commission on it is cancelled too. You see it under Refunds on the Payments page. See Payments for venues.
Split bills
With Split the cost or an open match, the organizer pays the whole booking first. That locks the court right away.
- Each player's share is the total divided by the number of players, rounded up to the next centavo.
- Every time a player pays their share, that amount is refunded to the organizer.
- If a player never pays, the organizer keeps the court and simply doesn't get that share back.
- If the booking is cancelled with a refund, everyone who paid gets their money back.
Example: ₱2,000 for 4 players
- Organizer pays
- ₱2,000
- Each share
- ₱500
- 3 players pay → refunded to organizer
- ₱1,500
- Organizer’s real cost
- ₱500
More: Split the cost and open matches.
Fees
- Players
- No booking fee. You pay the price shown: court, plus coach and rentals if you add them.
- Venues
- LaroCourts commission on online bookings only: 5% on Starter (₱0 a month), 2% on Club (₱2,990 a month), from 1.5% on Network. Walk-ins and blocks are free.
- Coaches
- No fee of your own. The venue plan’s commission is taken from your lesson fee in proportion, e.g. ₱40 on an ₱800 hour at 5%.
- PayMongo
- PayMongo charges its own processing fee on each online payment, at its published rates. It is separate from LaroCourts’ commission and is not part of the numbers on your LaroCourts Payments page. Venues with connected payouts see it in their PayMongo account.
Example: ₱1,000 court on the Starter plan
- Player pays
- ₱1,000
- LaroCourts commission (5%)
- −₱50
- Venue’s share
- ₱950
Receipts
- Players: PayMongo emails a receipt to the email you paid with. We also email your booking confirmation. Your bookings, with booking codes, are in My account.
- Venues: every online payment, with booking code, amount, commission and payment method, is on the Payments page. Plan invoices are under Billing → Invoices, and PayMongo emails a receipt when you pay one.
- Coaches: each lesson, with its booking code and amount, is under Sessions. What you were paid is on your Overview and Payouts pages.
